Sumac Gallnut Extract - 16 oz

Sumach Gallnut is a natural extract that is produced from the Chinese Gallnut and has been especially developed for the textile industry. This material is very high hydrolysables tannin and yields very low color making this a perfect mordant lighter dye colors. Sumac gallnut is a yellowish granular powder with very little dust.

The Chinese sumach is a shrub of 2 to 10 m tall. It is common of the Northeastern India, in China, Japan, Korea and Indonesia. Galls are caused by the sting of an insect on leaves or petioles.
